For this week’s topic, I have selected the blood disease: Sickle cell anemia. I have selected an article “Sickle cell disease history” which was published by Yolanda Smith. In this article, she mainly focused on the history of sickle cell disease (SCD) and the origin and how it is formed. In 1910, Dr. James Herrick firstly gave a description of sickle cell disease by examining the blood film of the affected patient.
